Chris Townsend
A native to Sonoma County, Chris has been designing homes in the wine country region for over 26 years. This depth of experience shapes everything Townsend Residential Design does: from the way a site is read, to the way local approvals are navigated, to the level of care brought to every drawing created.
The work focuses on timeless design styles rooted in their environments, filled with abundant natural light, freely flowing from the indoors to the outdoors. Each project begins with a close study of the land, the client, and the context, and ends with a home that feels like it has always belonged exactly where it stands.
Chris founded TRD with a straightforward belief: that great residential design should be a personal, collaborative, and deeply enjoyable experience. Every client receives thoughtful guidance, clear communication, and genuine care from the first conversation through permit approval.
Outside of work, Chris spends his time with his wife and two daughters, and can usually be found on the trails, at the grill, or planning the next family adventure somewhere new.
